We're Back!...and here's our Day #1
The "Heart of the Mediterranean" was an incredible tour. We visited so many places, saw so many beautiful sites...the best way to describe it is to go day by day....
Here's Day 1:
Day 1 for us was flying. We met at SFO at 9 a.m. for our noon flight to Paris. We were all excited...parents included. There were quite a few tears shed, but we were ready. Ronnie, Stephen's mom, brought Martinelli's cider for us to toast with. Apparently it's a tradition in their family, only in older days, it was champagne instead of Martinelli's. We toasted to our upcoming trip.
We were able to visit a while before we went through security. Once through there, it was good-bye to parents. We had a while to wait so the cards came out, question games were played, and a lot of visiting took place as friendships were beginning to build.
Then we were on the plane and heading to New York....JFK....which was delayed because of thunderstorms. We landed about 10-15 minutes before our connecting flight took off to Paris. We RAN through JFK ... only to be confronted with another security check. I sent "Little Andy" and Jasmine on through to the gate and asked them to hold the plane...which miraculously, they did! The people already on the plane were not too happy. The plane was delayed over an hour while they transferred our luggage.
Off to Paris...and the end of Day 1.
